Will the Air Shock Ever Make A Return To MX?

From IG @mxtechtalk

WP was testing an air shock design and first to be spotted testing was@antoniocairoli. Two weeks later it landed in America and ended up on@ryandungey‘s KTM. The shock failed on Dungey’s bike in 2013 and was then seen again on@andrewshort29bike in 2015 where it failed again. I could not find much detail to the shocks inner workings but I did see it used a compensating piston in order to regulate the pressure inside. This was to keep the pressure known in order keep it consistent. One of the issues was excess pressure would build up due to heat. To mitigate this a blow off valve of sort was used to regulate excess build up. Much like air forks the benefit of this design would be the lack of spring and therefore weight savings. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a return of this tech especially with the success of WP’s air forks.
